The Role

As an IT/Cloud Consultant at Kyndryl, you will be re-energized with a fresh set of challenges, including working on large enterprise, fast-track infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be at the forefront of strategic decision-making, defining sourcing strategies, and selecting providers that align with our customers’ IT and automation strategies. You will be the trusted advisor, accountable for delivering highly complex, multi-disciplined consulting engagements that provide lasting and measurable value to our esteemed customers. Your expertise in prioritizing use cases, conducting ROI and business case analyses, and seamlessly incorporating security and resiliency into future state designs will shape the foundation for success.

You will strategically develop a future state vision and roadmap, revolutionizing the infrastructure and network requirements to meet the ever-evolving needs of both IT and business. You'll be the catalyst for improved performance and productivity, identifying areas where efficiency can be optimized, costs minimized, risks reduced, and performance enhanced. You will capture, prioritize, and analyze technical requirements, both functional and non-functional, ensuring that every aspect of the solution is meticulously crafted to perfection.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience as a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role
• Hands-on experience with public and/or private cloud environments, including deployment, configuration and automation
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including application deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, scaling, and basic cluster operations
• Experience working with containerized applications and container technologies
• Understanding of microservices architectures and cloud-native application deployment patterns
• Knowledge of Platform Engineering concepts, including internal developer platforms, self-service capabilities, reusable templates, automation, and improving developer experience
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and practices, such as Terraform, Ansible or similar technologies
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices to support secure and automated software delivery
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices for cloud platforms and distributed applications
• Understanding of cloud and Kubernetes fundamentals, including networking, security, identity and access management, storage, availability, and scalability
• Ability to support readiness assessments, identify technical inefficiencies, and contribute to strategies that improve cloud platforms, Kubernetes environments, and application delivery capabilities
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Working knowledge of at least one cloud or infrastructure platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, VMware, OpenShift, or private cloud technologies

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, Kubernetes, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or enterprise architecture, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, Red Hat OpenShift, TOGAF, or similar
• Experience with relevant enterprise Kubernetes platforms
• Exposure to Internal Developer Platforms, golden paths, service catalogs, developer portals, or platform-as-a-product approaches
• Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools such as Argo CD, Flux, or similar
• Understanding of service mesh technologies, API gateways, ingress controllers, and microservices communication patterns
• Knowledge of cloud-native security practices, including container security, image scanning, secrets management, policy enforcement, and compliance controls
• Ability to describe how cloud-native technologies impact security, availability, scalability, cost, capacity, resilience, and operational efficiency
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar delivery frameworks
• Awareness of IT Operating Models and the organizational capabilities needed to deploy, manage, and support cloud-native platforms
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering principles, including reliability, incident response, automation, and continuous improvement
