Financial Markets Risk Manager

• Lead a Front Office Prime Brokerage Risk team in Lisbon.

Managing and training the team in Lisbon, while ensuring that they work as desk extension of the NYC team;

Daily client portfolio exposure management and report major swings, escalating concerns to management;

Validating daily margin calls and reviewing client requests for collateral movements;

Assist in developing margin and pricing proposals for new and existing clients;

Manage and execute ad hoc projects for the desks;

Client communications (client specific financing solutions, explaining margin methodology);

Development and back-testing of margin methodologies;

Liaising with and directing IT on implementation of margin methodologies;

Designing and implementing client-friendly and internal margin reports;

Designing risk monitoring framework;

Working with IT to enhance front office risk system applications;

Reporting of significant risk exposures to senior management.

Perfil ideal

Graduate degree in mathematics or engineering with strong analytical skills. Knowledge of finance(preferred);

6 years minimum exposure to financial markets and risk analytics;

Experience in team management;

Fluency in English is mandatory (only applications in English will be considered);

Excellent communication skills and initiative to engage with teams spread across regions;

Confident and able to deal with senior managers & cross cultural teams;

Willingness to work flexible/ late hours, i.e., New York based schedule;

Ability and agility to work under pressure;

Understanding of various risk concepts (VaR, liquidity, concentration, risk exposures of different asset classes including derivatives);

Experience with risk systems;

Team Player;

Working experience with programming languages;

Attention to detail.
