Senior DevOps Engineer – Python & AWS | Data Platform

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Work arrangement: Hybrid — 1 day per week on site, plus 3 additional days per semester for workshops, hackathons and other activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• Senior-level DevOps experience, preferably in platform engineering or data engineering.
• Strong Python development skills, including classes, metaprogramming, data classes, type validation, API development and algorithmic patterns.
• Experience developing Python Lambda handlers, data transformation applications and automation scripts.
• Working knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, conventional commits and merge requests.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and command-line tools for operational automation.
• Ability to support architectural decisions and review infrastructure and automation code.

Nice to Have

• AWS certifications.
• Experience with data platform infrastructure and database operations, including relational and non-relational databases, SQL, JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with Confluent Cloud, Kafka or event streaming concepts, including topics, consumers and producers.
• Experience configuring AWS Lambda functions, including versioning and aliases.
• Familiarity with AWS ECS Fargate or container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience developing containerised Kafka consumers, serverless REST APIs or automation using the Confluent CLI.
